WhatsApp Users Might Get New Updates In Channel Feature To Help Them Streamline & Manage Content

These improvements aim to create a more seamless experience for users in discovering and engaging with channels.

Earlier last year WhatsApp introduced the Channels feature which enabled users to send messages to large groups of users at once. Numerous companies, publications, celebrities and influencers started engaging with their audience by using this feature right after its launch. WhatsApp while rolling out this feature said that this feature is different from regular chats due to which the identities of those who wish to follow certain channels remain hidden from other followers.

This feature had not received an update in a long time but now WhatsApp has reportedly been working on a number of features for Channels.

WhatsApp To Bring New Features To Channels

WABetaInfo's report highlights WhatsApp's efforts to enhance its Channels feature with a range of user-friendly updates. These improvements aim to create a more seamless experience for users in discovering and engaging with channels. For instance, the entry point for creating and exploring channels will become more accessible, enhancing overall navigation within the app. Notably, WhatsApp plans to introduce a verified badge directly within the channel list, a significant addition absent in the current version. The redesigned recommended channels section, now located at the list's bottom, will make it easier for users to discover and follow new content.

Moreover, WhatsApp is developing a feature that will enable users to perform bulk actions on multiple channels simultaneously. These actions include muting, marking as read, or pinning channels. Such enhancements are expected to elevate user engagement with channels on WhatsApp. The bulk action feature, for example, will simplify channel management, allowing users to mute or unmute several channels at once through an overflow menu that permits selecting all channels simultaneously. This streamlines notification settings management, saving users valuable time.

Furthermore, the introduction of verified badges within the channel list will play a crucial role in helping the users differentiate between fake and authentic channels. It will contribute significantly to bolstering trust and safety on the platform which will ultimately enhance the overall experience for users.
