WhatsApp Officially Rolls Out Message Yourself Feature. Know How To Use It

Meta-owned WhatsApp is rolling out a feature that will let users message themselves easily on the platform, the company announced on Monday.

In an attempt to make it easier to save links, notes and reminders, Meta-owned WhatsApp is rolling out a feature that will let users message themselves easily on the platform, the company announced on Monday. This also comes within a month of beta tracker of WhatsApp updates, WABetaInfo suggesting that the messaging platform was working on the feature. The "message yourself" feature on WhatsApp will be rolling out for iOS and Android users in the coming weeks.

Meta-owned WhatsApp is the world's most popular messaging platform and it has more than 2 billion users globally.

The Meta-owned company said message yourself is a 1:1 chat feature with yourself to send notes, reminders, and updates as needed. Users can keep track of their to-dos, send themselves notes, reminders, shopping lists and so on WhatsApp.

WABetaInfo has said that with 2.22.24.2 beta version of WhatsApp for Android, the beta testers can try "Message yourself" feature. Also, within the Android app, the chat with your phone number will also be available within your contacts list on the platform so that becomes easier for you to reach your own chat if you don’t have one in the chats list.

How to use "message yourself" feature on WhatsApp

We bring you a step-by-step guide on how to use the Message Yourself feature on Meta-owned WhatsApp.

Step 1: Open WhatsApp

Step 2: Create a new chat

Step 3: See your contact at the top of the list

Step 4: Click on your number and start messaging

Meanwhile, Meta-owned WhatsApp is working to add the ability to track call history within its desktop app. According to WABetaInfo, which is a tracker that keeps note of new and upcoming features of WhatsApp, an additional tab should become available to access call history within the app sidebar on Windows beta.

"WhatsApp is releasing a calls tab for the call history within the app sidebar! Thanks to the new call tab, users on WhatsApp beta for Windows can keep track of their call history from the native desktop app," WABetaInfo recently tweeted.

As per WABetaInfo, the additional calls tab will show up when a user opens WhatsApp, but it may be needed to restart the app if they don’t see it at first.
