Samsung’s Next Big Leap: One UI 8 Beta Rolls Out With Smarter AI, Foldables First In Line

Samsung is calling One UI 8 the beginning of a new generation of software, and it's not just about cosmetic changes.

Samsung is opening the gates to a more intelligent Galaxy experience with the launch of the One UI 8 beta program — a major upgrade that kicks off with its newest foldables and promises a redesigned, AI-enhanced interface built for the future.

AI Gets Personal With One UI 8

Samsung is calling One UI 8 the beginning of a new generation of software, and it's not just about cosmetic changes. The standout feature? A multimodal AI system that adapts to different Galaxy device form factors, enabling more natural and seamless interactions.

With deeper collaboration between Samsung and Google, One UI 8 will be among the first to ride on Android 16. The software is engineered to understand what users are doing — or even watching — and respond accordingly. From proactive suggestions to personalised insights, it’s a system built to anticipate and assist.

“Through open communication, Samsung and Google actively shared their respective design systems and real-time feedback with one another, accelerating software development that made One UI 8 one of the first UI platforms to adopt Android 16,” the company said.

Starting today, users in Germany, Korea, the UK, and the US can register for the beta on the Galaxy S25, S25+, and S25 Ultra.

Security First, AI Next

The brains behind this personalised experience are backed by some serious security. One UI 8 runs on Samsung’s Knox Vault, which isolates and protects sensitive information with a secure processor and memory.

And it doesn’t stop there. Samsung says users will have full control over how their data is processed — whether that’s on-device or through the cloud. The company promises transparency and choice at every turn.

“Samsung Knox Vault combines a dedicated secure processor with secure memory to isolate sensitive data from the rest of your user data and ensure that no one else can physically or remotely reach your personal information,” the company explained.

Convenience Wrapped in Innovation

One UI 8 isn’t just a tech upgrade; it’s designed to make daily life easier. New tools like Auracast will let users share audio to multiple devices — including Galaxy Buds and compatible hearing aids — just by scanning a QR code. No complex pairing rituals needed.

Meanwhile, customer service is getting a digital lift. With QR and NFC support directly through Samsung Accounts, registering devices for repair will now be faster and paperless.

Need help staying organised while planning a vacation? The revamped Reminder app allows you to voice-add to-dos on the fly and share lists with a tap.

And when it comes to sharing memories, Samsung has made Quick Share even more intuitive. A single tap in the Quick Settings panel now lets users send and receive files instantly.

A Preview of Galaxy’s AI Future

From smarter reminders to seamless file sharing and security-first AI features, One UI 8 is Samsung’s bold step toward an intelligent mobile future — one where your phone doesn’t just respond, it understands.

“The future of Galaxy AI starts now,” Samsung said, encouraging users to sign up for the beta through the Samsung Members app.

With this early rollout, Samsung isn’t just launching a software update — it’s reimagining how users interact with their devices.
