New Delhi: Krafton, the South Korean company that develops and distributes video games and also the creator of PUBG is set to officially launch PUBG: New State on iOS and Android on November 11 in over 200 countries, including India. Ahead of its launch, the company has started to tease some of its upcoming features. The Indian App store mentions November 12 as the release date for PUBG: New State.
The game developer has, however, mentioned that PUBG: New State will debut as a free-to-play mobile game in 17 different languages. A final technical test of the game was conducted in 28 countries between October 29-October 30, according to Krafton. The company had also revealed its post-launch support plans for PUBG: NEW STATE, which include a consistent pipeline of new content, global service support and anti-cheat measures.
This move will be a follow up to the July launch of its Battlegrounds Mobile India or BGMI version of the game that has been categorically developed for the Indian market.
“PUBG: New State inherits the core of the PUBG IP and will have a competitiveness in and of itself on the global market,” CH Kim, CEO of Krafton, had said in a statement during the online showcase.
"Krafton will continue to produce games that will be enjoyed by players across the world. We’re committed to offering an expanded experience based on the belief that games will become the most powerful type of media," Kim had added.
The company had earlier said that PUBG: New State had surpassed more than 50 million pre-registrations on iOS and Android OS since they were thrown open earlier in February.
The South Korean game developer also stated that it has been investing heavily in the development of Indian gaming, e-sports, and IT entertainment industries with the establishment of its Indian office. PUBG: New State is set in the year 2051 and is not a sequel to the existing Battlegrounds Mobile India. The game is likely to set the stage for Krafton’s upcoming games based on Battle Royale.
Meanwhile, the game developer promises to offer a PC-like experience on a smartphone with PUBG: New State. So people who have played Playerunknown's Battlegrounds, the PC version of PUBG Mobile, will be able to witness a similar experience on their phones with the upcoming game.
