This Wearable AI Gadget Claims It Can Read Your Mind. Here's How Much It Will Cost To Buy Omi In India

The creator of Omi, Nik Shevchenko, has announced that the first batch of these devices will roll out in the second quarter of 2025.

A new wearable AI device is turning heads — quite literally. Dubbed Omi, this futuristic gadget resembles a large button that attaches to the user’s forehead. Once in place, Omi taps into the user’s thoughts and executes tasks even before they’re spoken aloud. Acting like an AI-powered personal assistant for the mind, Omi also listens to nearby conversations and offers users helpful insights or responses through a companion smartphone app.

Before Omi can work its mind-reading magic, it syncs with the user’s smartphone. From there, users can think of commands or queries, and the device responds via the app interface. The system is designed to either pick up surrounding conversations or focus solely on the wearer’s voice, depending on user preferences. Conversations are securely stored locally on the smartphone or in the cloud, with the option to delete all recordings instantly.

Forehead Button or Stylish Necklace — Take Your Pick

The creator of Omi, Nik Shevchenko, has announced that the first batch of these devices will roll out in the second quarter of 2025. The company is offering two design variations: a forehead-mounted button and a necklace-style version. The forehead attachment directly converts thoughts into actions, while the necklace allows for voice interactions — either to request tasks or acknowledge completed ones.

Both models are powered by a rechargeable battery designed to last several days on a single charge. The development team has even made technical documentation publicly available for those with expertise in soldering and PCB assembly who might wish to build their own version.

Ambitious Vision: Full Mind Reading

The project’s long-term vision is nothing short of audacious. In a tweet, Shevchenko wrote, “Our goal is to fully read the mind. We know it might be hard and ambitious, which is why we are starting with the simplest and most useful use case: device activation.”

Currently, Omi employs a brain-interface module that enables it to interpret basic neural signals, with plans to enhance its brain data reading capabilities in the future.

Pre-Orders Open — India Included

Omi is priced at $89 and is now available for pre-order on the official website. For customers in India, an additional $10 shipping fee applies. As the world watches the rapid evolution of wearable AI, Omi offers a glimpse into a future where our thoughts could drive technology more directly than ever before.
