New Delhi: In a bid to expand its growing user base in the country, streaming giant Netflix India on Tuesday revised prices across its streaming plans with the price of the popular mobile subscription coming down to Rs 149 per month. The US-headquartered OTT service provider's price cut for streaming services comes at a time when other OTT platforms like Amazon Prime Video has increased its annual, quarterly and monthly subscription rates in India.

Netflix's new subscription plans in India
Starting today, the Netflix Mobile-only plan, after a 60 per cent cut, will cost be Rs 149 per month from the previous Rs 199 per month charges. The Netflix Basic plan will now be available for Rs 199 per month instead of Rs 499. The Netflix Standard plan will cost Rs 499 per month as against the Rs 649 while the top-tier Netflix Premium plan will now cost Rs 649 per month from the previous Rs 799.
Amazon Prime's new subscription plans in India
Amazon Prime has hiked its membership prices by 50 per cent starting today in India which will mean that users will have to shell out Rs 1,499 per year against the old pricing of Rs 999. Also applicable to monthly and quarterly membership plans, users will have to spend Rs 179 and Rs 459, for them, respectively, as against the former cost of Rs 129, and Rs 329.
Earlier, Amazon India, in its webpage, had mentioned the reason behind the increase in membership charges.

Disney+ Hostar's new subscription plans in India
Disney+ Hostar new subscription plans were introduced in India on September 1. The OTT service provider's new mobile plan now costs Rs 499 with a cap on streaming quality to HD. The company's second plan costs Rs 899 lets content streaming on two different devices including mobile, tablet or a television set. The top-tier plan being offered by Disney+ Hotstar is worth Rs 1499 and it offers streaming on four devices simultaneously at 4K.
