Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella's Son Zain Nadella Passes Away
Chairman and CEO of Microsoft, Satya Nadella's son Zain Nadella, passed away on Monday morning.
New Delhi: Chairman and CEO of Microsoft, Satya Nadella's son Zain Nadella, passed away on Monday morning, according to the tech giant. Nadella's son was born with cerebral palsy and the tech major informed its employees about Zain's passing away through an email.
Microsoft's message to employees had asked them to hold the family in their thoughts and prayers while giving them space to grieve privately, according to a report published by news agency Bloomberg.
“Zain will be remembered for his eclectic taste in music, his bright sunny smile and the immense joy he brought to his family and all those who loved him,” Jeff Sperring, CEO of Children’s Hospital, said in a message to his Board, which was shared with Microsoft executives.
Earlier in January, the Brand Finance Brand Guardianship Index had ranked Microsoft boss, Satya Nadella, as the top CEO in the world. Nadella, a first-generation Indian immigrant to the US, "has been credited with overhauling Microsoft's fortunes by changing its culture towards one of teamwork, innovation, and inclusivity, and instilling a growth mindset throughout the business".
Three other Indian-origin expat CEOs rank high: Sundar Pichai of Google is at 5, Shantanu Narayan of Adobe at 6, and Puneet Renjen of Deloitte at 14.
