Dr John Warnock, Adobe Co-Founder, Passes Away At 82

Adobe co-founder Dr John Warnock has passed away, the company has said in a statement, says a report by news agency Reuters. Warnock was aged 82. The cause of his death has not been revealed. He had founded tech giant Adobe with his partner late Dr. Charles Geschke in 1982. He is survived by his wife Marva Warnock who also designed the company’s original logo. He served as the company's CEO in 2000 and was chairman of the board, a position he shared with Geschke, until 2017.
Adobe's most popular products of all time have been Adobe Acrobat and Adobe Photoshop, but the tech major has maintained an impressively broad portfolio of well-regarded staple applications in multiple industries. During Warnock's tenure, the company created top-notch software for business, graphic design, photography, video editing, audio recording, and more, says a report by The Verge.

Warnock created history and left behind a legacy that shaped the global design industry. During his tenure, Adobe Photoshop emerged as a go-to software for designers, photographers and digital artists. Photoshop software became an unparalleled design software in the creative industry.
"It is a sad day for the Adobe community and the industry for which he has been an inspiration for decades," Adobe CEO Shantanu Narayen said in an email sent to employees, as reported by Reuters.

Adobe has recently launched a new AI feature called Generative Expand that allows users to expand images beyond their original aspect ratios. The tool is powered by Firefly-based technology such as Generative Fill. Generative Expand enables users to seamlessly expand and resize any image by using the Crop tool, according to the company. On clicking "Generate" the empty space gets filled with AI-generated content that naturally blends with the existing image.
