'Mission Accomplished': 13-Year-Old Indian Origin Boy Meets Tim Cook At Apple WWDC 2024

Apple enthusiast Shaurya Gupta sure notched up a warm memory with CEO Cook as he visited WWDC 2024.

Apple's Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) 2024 kicked off on Monday, promising a week-long extravaganza of technological innovation and creativity. Among the myriad of social media posts flooding timelines, one in particular caught the eye of many – a snapshot of 13-year-old Shaurya Gupta, an Indian-origin Apple enthusiast, posing alongside none other than the CEO, Tim Cook.

Gupta's post on X (formerly Twitter) was succinct yet brimming with accomplishment, merely captioned "Mission accomplished" alongside the event's hashtag, with a subtle tag to Cook. The image swiftly garnered attention, accumulating over 238,000 views within a day, with the numbers steadily climbing, accompanied by nearly 7,000 likes and a plethora of comments echoing the sentiment of awe and admiration.

Apple Swift Student Challenge Got To Meet Cook As Well

The heartwarming tweet follows Apple's recent call for applications to the 2024 Swift Student Challenge, an annual competition designed to showcase the coding prowess of budding developers through playground projects. The lucky winners of this challenge are granted the prestigious opportunity to attend the WWDC 2024 kick-off event at Apple Park.

Out of the pool of applicants, 350 individuals were selected to partake in the WWDC 2024 kick-off event, set to unfold in Cupertino, California on June 10. In an unprecedented move, Apple will also recognise 50 "Distinguished Winners" who will indulge in an exclusive three-day experience at Apple Park, culminating in a personal meeting with CEO Tim Cook, where they will have the chance to showcase their technological prowess.

The perks for the Swift Student Challenge winners extend beyond the event, as they will receive a complimentary one-year subscription to the Apple Developer Program, a voucher for an Apple Developer Program certification exam, and a special token of appreciation from Apple, which in previous years has included coveted items such as AirPods Pro, WWDC-themed pins, and an exclusive jacket.
