How Generating APAAR ID Online Can Make NEET 2025 Registration Easier For You

APAAR, short for Automated Permanent Academic Account Registry, is a Government-backed initiative under the "One Nation, One Student ID" scheme.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) introduced the APAAR ID in 2023, which is a unique digital identification system. This initiative, aimed at streamlining the registration process, provides every student with a 12-digit APAAR number to manage and access their academic records efficiently.

It should be noted that the NTA on January 25 clarified that APAAR ID is not mandatory for NEET-UG 2025 registration. However, it can make the entire process easier.

What Is APAAR ID?

APAAR, short for Automated Permanent Academic Account Registry, is a Government-backed initiative under the "One Nation, One Student ID" scheme. It serves as a digital repository for academic credentials, including degrees, scholarships, and awards. The APAAR ID simplifies data transfer and ensures that students can securely access their records via DigiLocker.

It can ease the process of registration for multiple reasons:

  • Simplified Registration: A centralised APAAR ID streamlines the NEET application process.
  • Identity Verification: It ensures authenticity by linking student details to Aadhaar.
  • Fraud Prevention: By eliminating duplicate registrations, APAAR ID enhances the integrity of the exam.
  • Efficient Data Management: The system facilitates better handling of candidate records during the examination process.

Steps To Generate APAAR ID For NEET 2025

Students can create their APAAR ID through their schools by following these steps:

  • Demographic Verification: Visit your school to confirm personal details like name, date of birth, and address.
  • Parental Consent: Students under 18 must obtain approval from parents or guardians.
  • Authentication: Schools will authenticate the provided information.
  • ID Generation: Upon successful verification, the APAAR ID is generated and stored digitally in DigiLocker.

Key Details Required For APAAR ID Creation

  • Personal Education Number (PEN)
  • Aadhaar details (including name as per Aadhaar)
  • Date of birth, gender, and contact information
  • Parents’ names

Accessing & Tracking APAAR ID

Once created, the APAAR ID is accessible in the DigiLocker account under "Issued Documents." Students can also monitor their APAAR ID status through the UDISE+ Portal or seek updates from school authorities.

The introduction of the APAAR ID marks a significant step towards digital transformation in academic processes. For NEET 2025 aspirants, it ensures a seamless registration experience while safeguarding data authenticity and security. Students are advised to complete their APAAR ID generation process promptly to avoid delays in NEET 2025 registration.
