Airte has started 2025 by introducing two new plans. The updates focus on enhancing voice and SMS benefits while scaling back on data, in line with a directive from the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI). The move targets users who prioritize communication features over mobile data.

Airtel Rs 499 Prepaid Plan: Optimised For Calling, Messaging

The Rs 499 prepaid plan offers an 84-day validity and focuses exclusively on unlimited voice calls and 900 SMS. The earlier inclusion of 6GB of mobile data in the Rs 509 plan has been removed, making this plan ideal for those who rely heavily on calling and messaging rather than internet usage.

Despite the data exclusion, subscribers still get value-added perks such as complimentary access to the Airtel Xstream app for entertainment, Apollo 24/7 Circle membership for healthcare assistance, and customizable Hello Tunes.

For users who need some amount of mobile data, Airtel offers the Rs 569 prepaid plan. This alternative includes all the benefits of the Rs 509 plan, with the addition of 6GB of data.

Airtel Rs 1,959 Annual Plan: Voice, SMS Take Priority

The Rs 1,959 annual recharge plan has also been introduced, with significant changes to its data benefits, as earlier seen in the Rs 1,999 plan. While the plan continues to offer unlimited voice calls and brings 3,600 SMS for 365 days, it no longer includes the 24GB of data previously bundled (with the Rs 1,999 plan). Users subscribing to this plan will still enjoy Airtel’s extra benefits, such as access to the Airtel Xstream app, Apollo 24/7 Circle membership, and free Hello Tunes service.
