'Declare TMC A Terrorist Organisation': Suvendu After CBI Recovers Weapons, RDX In Sandeshkhali Raids

Suvendu Adhikari demanded to label Trinamool Congress as a terrorist organisation following the recovery of foreign weapons, including explosives like RDX, in Sandeshkhali.

Day after the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) recovered a huge amount of arms and ammunition in Sandeshkhali, Bengal Assembly’s Leader of Opposition (LoP) Suvendu Adhikari on Saturday, demanded to declare Trinamool Congress (TMC), the party led by Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, a terrorist organistation.

“All the weapons found in Sandeshkhali are foreign. Explosives like RDX are used in horrific anti-national activities. All these weapons are used by international terrorists,” Adhikari said.

“I demand to declare Trinamool Congress as a terrorist organisation,” he added.

“People who watched the trailer on the incident in Khadikul, Egra, today watched the movie amid the recovery of RDX and deadly weapons in Sandeshkhali,”   Adhikari was quoted as saying by news agency ANI.

“Mamata Banerjee is fully responsible for this incident. I demand to arrest Mamata Banerjee and declare Trinamool Congress as a terrorist organisation,” he added.

The recovery operation, conducted by the CBI on Friday in Sandeshkhali, uncovered a range of weaponry, including foreign-made pistols, and revolvers, linked to the January attack on an Enforcement Directorate (ED) team. The incident was provoked by now-suspended TMC leader Shahjahan Sheikh.

Among the items seized during the searches were three foreign-made revolvers, one foreign-made pistol, and a huge amount of ammunition. Additionally, several incriminating documents pertaining to the former TMC leader were also recovered.

The operation was conducted by the teams of CBI, bomb squad, National Security Guards (NSG), central paramilitary forces, and West Bengal Police.

The searches, spanning till Friday afternoon, were held after three FIRs were registered by the CBI following the attack on the ED team in Sandeshkhali on January 5.
