Punjab Tightens Grip on Drug Traffickers: Chief Minister Mann's Unyielding Action

A dedicated building is being renovated at an estimated cost of 90 lakh rupees, creating a state-of-the-art command center for the task force.

Under the steadfast leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, Punjab has intensified its fight against drug trafficking, bringing a new dimension to the battle. With the establishment of the Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF), the state has taken a major step in disrupting the illegal drug trade that has plagued the region for years.

Strengthening the Task Force

The Punjab Government has allocated significant resources to the ANTF, enhancing its capabilities to combat drug-related crimes. A dedicated building is being renovated at an estimated cost of 90 lakh rupees, creating a state-of-the-art command center for the task force. ANTF will empower citizens and addicts alike by encouraging them to report drug traffickers, and taking swift action to dismantle trafficking networks. Those seeking to break free from addiction will also be provided with necessary medical assistance.

Technologically Equipped for Success

The ANTF is now better equipped than ever before, with the introduction of cutting-edge technology, funding, and highly trained personnel. The task force has expanded from 400 to 861 personnel, ensuring a stronger presence across multiple regions. This technological and manpower boost is aimed at ensuring the swift identification and neutralization of drug cartels across Punjab.

Massive Budget Allocation for Anti-Drug Efforts

In a testament to its unwavering commitment, the Punjab Government has granted a budget of 12 crore rupees for the ongoing anti-drug campaign. This significant allocation will support the purchase of advanced software, hardware, and infrastructure upgrades, ensuring that the ANTF operates as an agile, modern, and efficient agency in its fight against drug traffickers.

Crushing Drug Cartels

Chief Minister Mann’s initiative has already borne fruit, with the Punjab Police successfully executing large-scale operations against drug traffickers. Over 379 drug traffickers have been apprehended, and 173 crore rupees worth of illegal substances have been seized. These decisive actions demonstrate the Punjab Government’s determination to rid the state of the drug menace once and for all.

A Unified Punjab Against Drugs

With the ANTF's expanded capabilities, robust funding, and cutting-edge technology, the Mann Government is closing in on the drug cartels that have plagued Punjab for decades. The combined force of the government, law enforcement, and the community will continue to drive this fight forward, ensuring a safer, healthier, and drug-free Punjab for all.
