Mumbai: 2 Dead, Several Injured After Massive Fire Breaks Out In Flat On Eight-Storey Building
The fire broke out in a flat on the first floor of Pavan Dham Veena Santur building in Mahaveer Nagar locality around 12.30 pm.
New Delhi: Two persons died and three others were injured after a massive fire broke out in a flat on the first floor of an eight-storey residential building in suburban Kandivli in Mumbai on Monday, news agency ANI reported.

The fire broke out in a flat on the first floor of Pavan Dham Veena Santur building in Mahaveer Nagar locality around 12.30 pm. The blaze later spread to the electric wiring and installations on that floor.
As many as eight fire engines and other vehicles of the fire brigade were rushed to the spot to douse the flames, officials said. "Fire-fighting operation is going on with the help of two small hose lines and one first aid line of four motor pumps," PTI quoted a fire department official as saying.
He further said that all agencies concerned, including Adani Power, police, Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) ward and the 108 ambulance service were engaged in fire-fighting operation.
Earlier in the day, a minor fire broke out on the second floor of a shop in Chawri Bazar area in central Delhi's, news agency PTI reported. The fire was soon brought under control and no one was injured, officials said.
"The fire department received information about the fire at 9.50 am. Four fire engines were pressed into service. It was a minor fire in a room where some safety equipment was kept," PTI quoted the fire department officials as saying.
Earlier on Sunday, three people were injured after a fire broke out in a house in Kolkata, PTI reported. "The cause of the fire will be ascertained by the forensics team. But there were massive sounds resembling blasts of gas cylinders. The fire has been brought under control," a police official told the news agency.
