Former Congress MLA Bambar Thakur Attacked In Jabali, Himachal Police Round Up Suspects

Congress leader and ex-MLA Bamber Thakur was attacked by some people in Jabali following an argument after which some suspects were rounded up by the police, officials said on Friday.

As per reports, the altercation unfolded after a heated argument ensued between Thakur and some individuals inside the office, eventually escalating into a physical confrontation.

During the altercation, Thakur sustained serious injuries, requiring immediate medical attention. Police have registered a case and initiated the prove into the incident.

The Congress leader's supporters raised slogans against the administration over the incident and took Thakur to Bilaspur Hospital for treatment.

Confirming the attack on the former legislator, Deputy Superintendent of Police Madan Dhiman said Thakur had been taken to the hospital. A few people have been rounded up in connection with the attack and further investigations were underway, he said.

“Bamber Thakur has been taken to the hospital, and the police are actively investigating the incident. Some individuals connected to the attack have been detained, and their interrogation is currently underway,” DSP Madan Dhiman said.

The local Congress leaders denounced the attack on the former MLA and demanded strong punitive action against the attackers.
