Police have arrested 30-year-old Bhupendra, Satish's former tenant, for allegedly plotting to kidnap Satish and demand a ransom of Rs 5 Lakh.
A bank manager, who was kidnapped last week from his Faridabad home, has been rescued by Haryana Police on Wednesday. The Haryana Police found out that Satish, was first taken to Himachal Pradesh's Bilaspur and then Mathura.
Police have arrested 30-year-old Bhupendra, Satish's former tenant, for allegedly plotting to kidnap Satish and demand a ransom of Rs 5 Lakh.
The investigation revealed a chilling plan under which the kidnappers, including Bhupendra, his wife and former colleague Ravindra, knew that the bank manager's family was well-off and decided to kidnap him to get a ransom, according to a PTI report.
While Satish worked as a bank manager in Delhi and live in Faridabad, his wife was a government employee. Bhupendra, who used to live as a tenant in Satish's house till four months back, was out of work.
How The Incident Unfolded?
According to the police, Bhupendra and Ravindra recced the area near Satish's house for 2-3 days before the kidnapping. Moreover, Bhupendra also knew that the main door was not locked, even at night.
On April 21, Bhupender and his friend kidnapped Satish from his house in Ballabgarh’s Sector 62. They took him to Himachal Pradesh and demanded a ransom of Rs 50 lakh from his family, they said.
Later, the accused negotiated with Satish's family and asked for Rs 5 lakh for his release. They asked his family to deposit Rs 1 lakh in Satish's account and withdrew the money from different places using his debit card, police said.
The kidnappers asked Satish’s wife to bring the remaining Rs 4 lakh Kelly bypass in Ballabgarh. Police then laid a trap and arrested Bhupender.
Police said two pistols, three live cartridges, a rope, Satish's vehicle used for kidnapping him and Rs 4 lakh cash were recovered from the kidnappers. “Our teams are conducting raids to nab Ravindra and others,” said Sube Singh, spokesperson of Faridabad police.
