'Bengal Turned Into State Run By Govt Of Rapists...': BJP On Sandeshkhali Violence

The BJP slammed Mamata Banerjee-led TMC in West Bengal over the allegations of sexual assault on women in Sandeshkhali.

Sandeshkhali Violence: The Bharatiya Janata Party on Wednesday torn into Mamata Banerjee-led Trinamool Congress in West Bengal over the allegations of sexual assault on women in Sandeshkhali. The violence erupted in the area after a large number of women in Sandeshkhali alleged that Trinamool Congress' local strongman Shajahan Sheikh and his supporters sexually assaulted them.

Speaking at a press conference, BJP's Gaurav Bhatia alleged that West Bengal has turned into a state where there is a government run by the rapists, of the rapists for the rapists.

Bhatia continued his attack on the Bengal CM and said she has been acting as a silent spectator. This is a matter of concern. He further stated that when the perpetrator of the crime happens to be a TMC goon, the chief minister of the state doesn't even care to uphold the dignity of the women of the state.

On the Sandeshkhali incident, BJP national spokesperson Gaurav Bhatia says, "...West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee is acting as a silent spectator...This is a matter of concern. This press conference highlights the lawlessness that prevails in West Bengal...When the perpetrator of the crime happens to be a TMC goon, the chief minister of the state doesn't even care to uphold the dignity of the women of the state, especially Hindu women, being targeted by the goons of Sheikh Shahjahan, the absconder."
