New Delhi: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Friday arrived in Odisha for a two-day official visit. Over the course of his visit, the BJP leader will hold meetings with officials. Shah reached the state capital Bhubaneswar late Friday night. Notably, this comes a day after Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik's Biju Janta Dal extended support to the BJP on the Delhi Services Bill, which was passed in the Lok Sabha by virtue of a voice vote.
According to PTI, the Union Home Minister will launch a national highway project on Saturday. He is also scheduled to chair a meeting on Left Wing Extremism (LWE) and disaster management on the same day.

However, there was no official word on who would attend the meeting at the airport lounge.
The Union minister’s visit to the BJD-ruled state and scheduled meetings to discuss LWE and disaster management is significant as it comes on the heels of the ruling party in Odisha supporting the Centre to ensure passage of the Delhi Services Bill in the Lok Sabha on Thursday.
His earlier visit to Odisha on June 17 was cancelled as he was preoccupied with overseeing evacuation ahead of the landfall of Cyclone Biparjoy in Gujarat.
Further, over the course of his two-day visit, Shah will hold a closed-door meeting at the BJP’s state party headquarters on Saturday.
