West Indies make one change for 3rd Test vs India
KINGSTON: Fresh from salvaging an unexpected draw against India, West Indies dropped opener Rajendra Chandrika on Thursday and brought batsman Shai Hope into the 14-man squad for the third Test.
Roston Chase hit an undefeated 137 as West Indies lost only two wickets on the final day of the second test in Kingston to secure the draw.
Chandrika scored 5 and 1 in that test.
The 22-year-old Hope, who can also keep wicket, has played six tests with a batting average of 15.54, though his first-class average is 35.82.
The third test starts in St. Lucia on Tuesday.
India won the first of four tests by an innings and 92 runs in Antigua.
West Indies squad: Jason Holder (captain), Kraigg Brathwaite, Devendra Bishoo, Jermaine Blackwood, Carlos Brathwaite, Darren Bravo, Roston Chase, Miguel Cummins, Shane Dowrich, Shannon Gabriel, Shai Hope, Leon Johnson, Alzarri Joseph, Marlon Samuels.
