Usman Khawaja made a shocking revelation while responding to a journalist on Twitter, who expressed frustration at behavior of security personnel at cricket venues around Australia.

Pakistan-born Australian cricketer Usman Khawaja made a shocking revelation, saying he was stopped three times by security officials at a hotel last year despite wearing the Australia cricket team kit. The left-handed senior batter made the shocking statement while responding to a journalist on Twitter, who expressed frustration at behavior of security personnel at cricket venues around Australia.

"To all you wonderful security personnel at cricket venues around Australia. This is my fifth summer here. At some point you have to stop jumping on me, questioning my credentials, talking down to me & asking each other if ‘we can trust him?’," Sundaresan wrote on Twitter.

"Like it or not, I’m here to stay," he said.

Responding to Bharat, 36-year-old Khawaja wrote on Twitter on Sunday: "I got stopped 3 times last year at our hotel, while in Australian Kit and asked if I was with the Australian Cricket team… #youdontlookaustralian #orsotheysay."

Khawaja has made several comebacks to the Australian team during his career and currently is part of Australian Test squad for the ongoing series against South Africa.

Usman Khawaja played his first ever match for Australian cricket team in January 2011 during the Ashes series. The stylish batter made his ODI debut for Australia in 2013, against Sri Lanka, while he made his T20 debut in January 2016 against India. Usman, who is currently one of the best Aussie batters in Test format, was also part of Australian T20 World Cup squad that year.

Khawaja has scored 3966 runs in 54 Tests with help of 12 tons, 1554 runs in 40 ODIs and 241 runs in T20Is. He has not played any white ball game since 2019.
