VIDEO: Robbers target Rio Olympics tourists in broad daylight

Rio de Janeiro: People from across the world have reached Rio de Janeiro for the Summer Olympics 2016 but the city is not being the a good host as the foreign nationals are becoming targets of petty thieves. A video posted on Youtube shows how brazen these thieves are. And with Olympics being organized in the city, gangs are having a gala time. This video has exposed their modus operandi. They don’t make eye contact. Sometimes they tail their victims and then attack. They try to get as close as possible and at an opportune moment they snatch things and run away to safety. They work in groups as well. Cash, handbags, backpacks, mobile phones, earphones or jewellery — anything that they can get their hands on – is good for them.
