Sachin Tendulkar comes out in support of West Indies cricketers

New Delhi: Hailing the West Indies as "true champions" for winning their second ICC World T20 title, Indian batting legend Sachin Tendulkar on Monday said that cricket's governing body in the Caribbeans should support the players and address their concerns. "WI players emerged true champions overcoming challenges on & off the field. West Indian Board should support them & address their concerns," Tendulkar wrote on his official Twitter handle. "WI all the way!! True champions, be it u19s, women's or men's championship! Super stuff by team WI! Brathwaite was breathtaking! #WT20Final," the Indian icon said in another tweet after the West Indies clinched the World T20 title for a second time by beating England by four wickets in the summit showdown last night.   West Indies captain Darren Sammy had made a scathing attack on the West Indies Cricket Board, stating that lack of support from the WICB has been disappointing after the team's second World T20 title triumph. Hours after Sammy's outbursts, WICB issued a statement headlined 'WICB President has high praises for World Twenty20 Organisers' in which it termed Sammy's comments "inappropriate".
