Rio Olympics: Usain Bolt strolls into 100m semi-finals

Rio de Janeiro: Usain Bolt made his grand Olympic entry with an easy victory in his 100-meter heat on Saturday. Slow out of the blocks but majestic once he hit his stride, he had time to look left four times to see if anyone was creeping up on him. He coasted across the line in 10.07 seconds. His main rival, Justin Gatlin showed just as much poise — without the showmanship. He shot out of the blocks and only let up at the very end to finish in 10.01. Others to go through were Nickel Ashmeade and Yohan Blake of Jamaica and American Trayvon Brommell. Bolt is looking for his third straight title. Gatlin won in 2004.
