Mumbai Indians pull off thrilling 4 wicket win over Kolkata Knight Riders

Mumbai Indians pull off thrilling 4 wicket win over Kolkata Knight RidersPhoto: BCCI New Delhi: Nitish Rana played an innings of his life and Hardik Pandya provided the finishing touches as Mumbai Indians managed to register an improbable 4 wicket win against Kolkata Knight Riders in an IPL encounter in Mumbai. Mumbai scored 50 in the last 16 balls to set the Wankhede stadium on fire. It seemed all over when Pollard hold out in third man for 17 but young Nitish Rana along with Indian cricket’s sensation Hardik Pandya managed to pull off a spectacular win as the KKR death bowling came to a cropper. Delhi batsman Nitish Rana smashed 50 off 29 and Hardik Pandya slammed 29 off 11, together they put on 41 runs in 15 balls. Some horrendous fielding on the last stages of the match let KKR down. Substitute Rishi Dhawan put down a simple catch of Pandya when Mumbai needed 5 off 3. It was Pandya who smashed the winning boundary. For KKR, Ankit Rajpoot took 3 wickets for 37 runs but could not deliver in the death overs as he too was hit all around the park by Pandya and Nitish. Earlier it was Manish Pandey’s (81 off 47) brilliance with the bat that enabled KKR to reach 178.
