Most Dot Balls In IPL 2025 So Far: Not Bhuvi!

Chennai Super Kings' left-arm pacer Khaleel Ahmed currently holds the record for bowling the most dot balls in Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025.

Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 is shaping up to be a thrilling contest between bat and ball. While many big-name bowlers are facing the heat, one name is quietly standing out with exceptional control and consistency - Khaleel Ahmed, the pace spearhead trusted by five-time champions MS Dhoni.

Khaleel Ahmed leads in dot balls

Chennai Super Kings' left-arm pacer Khaleel Ahmed currently holds the record for bowling the most dot balls in Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025.

In 7 matches so far, he has picked up 11 wickets at an average of 22.09 and an economy rate of 9.0. More impressively, Khaleel has bowled 78 dot balls in just 27 overs - making him the most economical in terms of pressure - building deliveries this season.

Star bowlers failing to impress

While Khaleel has kept things tight, several established names have failed to live up to expectations. Mohammed Shami, in particular, had a forgettable outing against Punjab, conceding 75 runs in a single spell - setting a new record for the most expensive bowling figures by an Indian in Indian Premier League (IPL) history.

Veteran Bhuvneshwar Kumar has managed just 50 dot balls so far, and Sunrisers Hyderabad captain Pat Cummins has been underwhelming with an economy rate of 10.93 and only 43 dot balls to his name. KKR's Mitchell Starc hasn't fared much better, managing just 47 dot deliveries this season.

In Indian Premier League (IPL) - a tournament known for explosive batting - it's Khaleel Ahmed who is quietly becoming a key difference-maker with his ability to tie down batters. As big names struggle to find rhythm, Khaleel's disciplined spells are proving that with precision and skill, even bowlwers can still dominate in the shortest format.
