Punjab Wins Toss, Invites Luckow To Bat First

Punjab Kings have won the toss and have opted to field.

The 13th match of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 will see Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) take on Punjab Kings (PBKS) at the Ekana Stadium in Lucknow on April 1. All eyes will be on the two most expensive players in IPL history - LSG captain Rishabh Pant and PBKS skipper Shreyas Iyer - who will lead their respective teams in this high-stakes encounter.

This season has already witnessed multiple 200+ totals, with Sunrisers Hyderabad setting a new IPL record of 286 runs in the tournament opener.

Rajasthan Royals also crossed 250 in their chase, while Punjab Kings posted 243 in their first match. Given these explosive batting performances, the LSG vs PBKS showdown has the potential to be another high-scoring contest, possibly producing a combined total of 500 runs.

LSG vs PBKS Toss Update

Punjab Kings won the toss, and invited Luckow to bat first.

What captains said...

Punjab captain Shreyas Iyer: We are going to bowl first. It's a new ground, new pitch, dew could be a factor as well and this being a red-soil pitch, we want to chase. The players have the freedom to express themselves. You have to play the situation, the important goal is to win. We try to keep things simple. We don't know how the pitch is going to play but we have to adjust quickly. Lockie comes into the team.

LSG captain Rishabh Pant: We wanted to bowl first but there are things which are not under our control so happy to bat first. There are a lot of people who have come to support us, we are definitely going to give our best. No changes for us.
