As five-time Indian Premier League (IPL) winner MS Dhoni gears up for another season, he has a golden opportunity to etch his name in history by achieving three major milestones.

Three records MS Dhoni can break in IPL 2025

400 boundaries for Chennai Super Kings: MS Dhoni has struck 358 fours for Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the Indian Premier League (IPL). If he manages to hit 42 more, he will join an elite list as only the second CSK batter to achieve 400 fours in the tournament.

First wicketkeeper to 200 dismissals: MS Dhoni has claimed 194 dismissals in Indian Premier League (IPL) history. With just six more catches or stumpings, he will become the first wicketkeeper to reach the 200-mark, setting an all-time IPL record.

CSK's all-time leading run-scorer: Currently, MS Dhoni has scored 5,118 runs in 225 innings for Chennai Super Kings, averaging 39.06 with a strike rate of 139.45. He needs just 19 more runs to surpass the franchise’s highest run tally and become Chennai Super Kings' (CSK) top scorer in Indian Premier League (IPL) history.

CSK retained MS Dhoni at 'bargain price'

Ahead of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 mega auction, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) took advantage of the reinstated uncapped player rule and retained MS Dhoni for just Rs 4 crore.

As Chennai Super Kings (CSK) enters a new era under the captaincy of Ruturaj Gaikwad, fans will be hoping for a record-extending sixth IPL title - with Dhoni playing a major role in their campaign.

IPL 2025 kicked-off on March 22, with the final scheduled for May 25. Over the course of 65 days, 74 matches will be played as 10 teams battle for the prestigious trophy.
