'Continue To Work Hard, Result Will Follow': Sachin Tendulkar's Advice To Son Arjun
'Master Blaster' Sachin Tendulkar, who was associated with Mumbai Indians as a player and then as a mentor, clarified that he never interferes in team selection.
New Delhi: Indian batting legend Sachin Tendulkar's son Arjun Tendulkar, a left-handed batter and a left-arm pacer, has been part of the Mumbai Indians (MI) squad for the last two seasons in the Indian Premier League (IPL) but is yet to make his debut. In IPL 2022, Arjun was made to sit inside the dugout for the last 28 matches but didn't get to play a single match for Mumbai Indians (MI). The franchise tried out a total of 22 players from their squad in IPL 2022. There were three players who did not get a chance to play a single match and Arjun Tendulkar is one of them.
Arjun was part of the Mumbai Indians team last year too and in this year's mega auction, he was retained by the franchise for his base price of Rs 30 lakh.
'Master Blaster' Sachin Tendulkar, who was associated with Mumbai Indians as a player and then as a mentor, clarified that he never interferes in team selection.
On the show 'Sachin Insight', when Sachin was asked if he wanted to see Arjun play this year, the master blaster said, "That's a different question. It doesn't matter what I'm thinking or what I feel. The season is over now."
He said, "There is always a conversation between me and Arjun that the road is going to be challenging. You started playing cricket because you love cricket, you keep doing that and at the same time keep working hard. The result will definitely follow."
Sachin, who played a record 200 Test matches for India, said that as far as team selection comes, he leaves the matter to the team management. He insisted that he stay away from team selection.
Sachin said, "And if we talk about selection, I have never indulged myself in selection. I leave all these things to the (team) management because that's what I've always done."
