Ind vs Eng: Joe Root Becomes Batter With Maximum Tons In Fab 4, Leapfrogs Virat Kohli & Steve Smith

On the last day of Ind vs Eng fifth Test, Joe Root scored a brilliant century in 136 balls in England's second innings. Along with this, he has also registered a special record. 

New Delhi: England created history against India at Edgbaston, Birmingham. The hosts defeated India by seven wickets in the final Test. With this, the five-match series, which started last year but was postponed due to Covid outbreak in Indian camp, ended in a 2-2 draw.

India had given a target of 378 runs to England, which they achieved by losing just three wickets on the final day. Joe Root and Jonny Bairstow did wonders with the bat for England in the second innings. Root scored an unbeaten 142, while Bairstow played an unbeaten match-winning innings of 114 runs. The duo shared 269 run partnership for fourth wicket.

Joe Root has become the batsman to score the most Test centuries in Fab 4 (Virat Kohli, Joe Root, Steve Smith, Kane Williamson). He has leapfrogged Virat Kohli and Steve Smith. Kohli and Smith have 27 centuries in Tests, while Root now has 28 Test centuries. Kane Williamson, the fourth player of Fab 4, has scored 24 centuries in Test cricket.

Kane Williamson has scored 33 fifties and 24 centuries in 154 innings of 88 Test matches.
