Ind vs Eng: Sanjay Manjrekar Picks 'Jadeja-Less' India Playing XI For Lord's Test
Manjrekar has included an extra batsman in form of Hanuma Vihari, replacing Ishant Sharma. Apart from Jadeja and Ishant, Manjrekar has kept all players in his team, who played Ind vs Eng first Test.
New Delhi: India vs England 1st Test ended in a draw due to rain interruption on the fifth and final day and now both the teams are preparing for the second test. Ind vs Eng 2nd Test will be played at the iconic Lords stadium from August 12. Ahead of the India vs England 2nd Test, former India cricketer and current commentator, Sanjay Manjrekar has selected India's playing XI.
Surprisingly, Manjrekar has not included in-form all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja in his team, even after he played a brilliant 56-run innings in Nottingham. Manjrekar has selected only four bowlers in his playing XI for India's 2nd Test vs England.
Manjrekar picks veteran Ravichandran Ashwin in place of in-form Jadeja
Team India skipper Virat Kohli had fielded a total of five bowlers, including four fast bowlers, in the first Test against England after losing the toss, but Manjrekar, in his playing XI for Lords Test, has picked only three fast bowlers. Apart from this, as a spinner, he has picked veteran Ravichandran Ashwin in place of Jadeja.
The cricketer-turned-commentator has included an extra batsman in this team in the form of Hanuma Vihari in place of fast bowler Ishant Sharma. Apart from Jadeja and Ishant, Manjrekar has kept all the players in this team, who played Ind vs Eng first Test.
India vs England 1st Test might have resulted in a draw, but the team will go into the second Test with great confidence. After Ind vs Eng 1st Test, both teams got four points each as per the points system of the World Test Championship. England captain Joe Root was adjudged the Man of the Match award for his remarkable performance in both the innings against India.
