'I Am Disappointed': Yashasvi Jaiswal After Missing Out On Hundred In Second Test Vs WI

The Mumbai-based batter also spoke about the secret to his success and he said that he always looks to gain from everyone's experience.

India’s young batter Yashasvi Jaiswal has been constantly making headlines with his extraordinary batting in ongoing India vs West Indies Test series. During the first Test, Jaiswal scored a brilliant century and was also involved in a 229-run opening-wicket stand with Rohit in the first Test at Dominica. In the ongoing second Test, the two again provided a solid start to the Indian team and made a 139-run partnership. Just because of this crucial stand, team India finished the first day of the second Test at 288 for four, and looking good for a big score.

"Of course, it's really nice to bat with Rohit bhaiya. We are always taking about the situation and how we can go forward, and, of course, we had our plans... what we can do, and it was really amazing to bat with him," said the young batter.

The Mumbai-based batter also spoke about the secret to his success and he said that he always looks to gain from everyone's experience.

"Everyone has their own way to tell things and everyone has experience. I would love (to) listen (to) everything, and whatever suits my game I will try and make sure I will do that.

"If I am around players who are really experienced and when they are talking, there is some thought behind it and I really like to hear that and make sure what is suiting my game I keep trying to develop that in my way.

"Of course, getting information, experience, learning from them, small, small other stuff, its just incredible," said Jaiswal.

Jaiswal also stated that he was unhappy as he missed his second consecutive century in Tests.

"Of course, I am disappointed. But it happens in cricket. I just need to keep learning and keep thinking how can I make sure that when I come (in) next, then what I can do in that situation.

Yashasvi made a  74-ball 57 in the ongoing Test after his 171-run knock in the first Test at Dominica, which India won by an innings and 141 runs. Talking about the first day, skipper Rohit Sharma also scored a gritty fifty (80 off 143 balls), and Virat Kohli (87 batting) helped team India to a solid 288/4 against West Indies at stumps in Trinidad. Alongside Kohli, Jadeja is also there in the middle with 36 runs. For West Indies, Jason Holder (1/30), Jomel Warrican (1/55), Kemar Roach (1/64), and Shanon Gabriel (1/50) picked up a wicket each.
