WTC 2023-25: A new-look Pakistan side have laid down a humping statement, as they announce their return to form in red-ball cricket with a resounding win over England. The victory marks Pakistan's first home Test match win after 11 matches, and with that, they end their winless run that almost lasted 4 years.

On a re-used pitch at Multan, Pakistan spinners did exceptionally well to keep England batters at bay, and the target of 297 proved to be too muhc for the visitors, who were effectively playing on a '9th Day' surface that offered huge assistance to the likes of Sajid Khan and Nauman Ali.

With the win, Pakistan attained their first Test win in more than a year, as their last win came against Sri Lanka during their 2-0 series win away, and with the win, this is now their 3rd win in the World Test Championship 2023-25 cycle.
The Shan Masood-led side still remain 8th in the table, as their 2-0 defeat against Bangladesh have severely hamepred their chances of finishing in the top-half of the points table.
A place in the WTC 2025 Final at Lord's Cricket Ground looks highly improbable for them, but will be hoping to gain form and momentum, as the nation has been subject to humiliating and embarrassing defeats across all formats since 2023.
Whereas for England, a defeat to Sri Lanka and now Pakistan have heavily impacted their chances of qualifying for the final.
