Rohit Sharma scripted history during India's World Cup clash against Sri Lanka at Leeds as he became the first ever batsman in World Cup history to score 5 tons in single edition of the showpiece event. The Indian opener went past the record held by Sri Lanka's Kumar Sangakarra, who scored  four successive tons in the 2015 World Cup. Rohit is also India's second highest century maker at the Cricket World Cup. With five tons to his name, he is only behind Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar who has six World Cup centuries for India. Rohit has been in staggering form with the bat for India in the ongoing World Cup. The 'Hitman' is the leading run scorer in the tournament with 644 runs at an average of over 100. Sharma is also India's highest six hitter in the iCC World Cup 2019  with 14 hits over the fence. Rohit earlier became only the third batsman in World Cup history to score 600 plus runs in a single edition of the tournament. He joined Indian batting legend Sachin Tendulkar and Australia's Matthew Hayden in an elite list of batsman to have achieved the herculean feat.
