WI Vs IND: West Indies Announce Squad For ODI Series

Pacer Oshane Thomas also got a place alongside Jayden Seales and leg spinner Yannick Cariah.

West Indies declared Squad to play ODI series against India.

Post their serious loss in the two-match Test series against India, West Indies will be now playing in a three-match ODI series against the Indian team. The 50-over series will start from Thursday, July 27. In order to play the same, the Windies declared their ODI squad which will be taking on against India. After facing defeats at the recently passed World Cup Qualifiers, the West Indies will now be looking to bounce back as soon as possible.

The team included many names that had earlier played for the national team as players like Shimron Hetmyer was called back into the squad. Pacer Oshane Thomas also got a place alongside Jayden Seales and leg spinner Yannick Cariah. Just after the squad was declared, selector Desmond Haynes welcomed Hetmyer and Thomas back to the squad. 

"We welcome Oshane and Shimron back into the group. Both have played at the international level before, with some success, and we believe they will fit well into the set-up," Desmond Haynes was quoted as saying by Cricbuzz.

"Oshane brings pace and is a potential wicket-taker with the new ball. Shimron's style of batting will offer a lot, especially in the middle stage of the innings and he is also a potential 'finisher'," he added.

Aug 1: India vs West Indies 3rd ODI - Queen’s Park Oval, Trinidad
