WATCH: Shami rattles Glenn Maxwell's stumps with an absolute ripper
The ball went into rattling the wickets and India got the much-needed breakthrough. Maxwell ended up scoring 40 off 51 deliveries including four boundaries.
Mohammed Shami has certainly become one of the most reliable speedsters in the Indian dressing room. And with 90 days remaining for the ICC Cricket World Cup, nothing could be more pleasing than watching him produce some classic spells against the 5-time World Champions.
Starting from where he left off in Down Under, Shami remained the second-most economical bowler in the first ODI against Australia on Saturday in Hyderabad. His pace caused immense damage to the Aussies middle order as he got the hold of dangerman Glenn Maxwell.
In the 40th over, Shami delivered a length ball, clocking 136 kph, while Maxwell swung slightly across the line, losing the bottom hand grip and completely missed the ball. The ball went directly to rattle the wickets and India got the much-needed breakthrough. Maxwell ended up scoring 40 off 51 deliveries including four boundaries.

It was the 2nd scalp that Shami extracted in the game. He returned with the impressive figures of 10-2-44-2, playing a massive roll in restricting the guests on 236/7. Before removing Maxwell, Shami hunted down Ashton Turner (21) in a similar fashion in his previous over.
