WATCH: MS Dhoni takes over captaincy for a while during 2nd T20I
There was a moment during the second T20I against New Zealand at Eden Park when the legendary Indian wicketkeeper stepped into his old boots for a while
Nothing else is more delightful than watching MS Dhoni captaining the Indian side. There are uncountable fans out there who would love to witness it for eternity. And luckily, there was a moment during the second T20I against New Zealand at Eden Park when the legendary Indian wicketkeeper stepped into his old boots for a while.
The incident happened during the 16th over when stand-in skipper Rohit Sharma had to leave the ground. He has probably hurt his finger while taking a catch to dismiss Colin de Grandhomme and was being looked at by the team physio Patrick Farhart.
At that point of time, Dhoni took the leadership charge and was seen setting the field during the death overs.

Under Dhoni’s short-term captaincy reign, speedster Khaleel Ahmed scalped two wickets in the last over to restrict the Kiwis for 158.
In reply, India thumped New Zealand by a huge margin of 7 wickets, with 8 balls to spare. The run chase was set up by skipper Rohit Sharma (50 off 29 balls) in the company of Shikhar Dhawan (30, 31 balls) with a 79-run stand.
Towards the end, Rishabh Pant showed spunk in a tricky situation, guiding India to their maiden T20 International victory on New Zealand soil.
