IND vs SA: Kohli-led India Eye Record Extending 11th Consecutive Test Series Win On Home Soil

If India win the upcoming series against the Proteas, they will go onto win a record extending 11th consecutive Test series on home soil, the most by any side.

Number One ranked test team India will lock horns against third placed South Africa in a 3-match Test series, marking the return of their home leg hosting the West Indies in October 2018. The series starts on October 2, with the first Test to be played in Visakhapatnam. While Virat Kohli's side started their World Test Championship campaign with a commanding win over the West Indies in the Caribbean earlier this year, the Proteas will begin their campaign with the India who come into the series on the back of a record ten successive Test series wins at home, would start as the overwhelming favourites against the Proteas who are in a period of transition after the retirement of their stalwarts - Dale Steyn, Hashim Amla and AB de Villiers in the recent past. If India win the upcoming series, they will go onto win a record extending 11th consecutive Test series on home soil, the most by any side. The sub continent powerhouse  are currently tied at 10 for the most series win at home along with the Australian teams that Steve Waugh and Mark Taylor led between November 1994 and November 2000 and the Australian team led by Ricky Ponting between July 2004 and November 2008. The last time India lost a Test series at home was against England during the latter's tour of the country during the 2012-13 season. Their winning streak started with the subsequent rubber against West Indies, which was also Sachin Tendulkar's last series.
