UAE Script Historic T20I Win Over Bangladesh, Break Several Records

UAE have registered their first-ever T20I win over Bangladesh. With the result, both sides have rewritten few records. Read below for details.

UAE Cricket touches new heights in T20I cricket, as the Associate nation registers it's first-ever T20I win over Bangladesh. The Muhammad Waseem-led side chased down the target of 206 at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium on Monday, May 19, and the three-match series is now levelled at 1-1.

"I'm speechless right now. I'm absolutely delighted that we've managed to defeat Bangladesh. We were confident we could chase down the total, knowing the conditions well — and in the end, we pulled it off," said Muhammad Waseem, after winning the Player of the Match award.

"We stuck to our game plan, and I focused on playing my natural game while trying to bat deep. I'm honestly at a loss for words. We were hoping for a six in that final over, and thankfully it came. In the next game, we'll continue to back our strengths," he added.

Here's What Both Skippers Said After The Match

Litton Das (Bangladesh Captain):

"Yeah, any loss is bad. They did their best and we were not up to the mark. You have to understand when you play in a small ground, when you are batting you also need to be calculative."

"What Rana did before, we were expecting more from him, still as a cricketer anyone can had bad day. Whatever I did, it was not up to the mark, I expect myself to do better. Yeah, thank you."

Muhammad Waseem (UAE Captain & POTM):

"I'm speechless right now. I'm absolutely delighted that we've managed to defeat Bangladesh. We were confident we could chase down the total, knowing the conditions well - and in the end, we pulled it off."
