Twitteratis Roast Ex-Aussie Players Who Predicted A Whitewash After Adelaide Test

Former Cricketers, Michael Vaughn, Ricky Ponting, Mark Waugh and Michael Clarke had predicted a 4-0 whitewash for the visitors, India. But these predictions went for a toss and Twitteratis started roasting these ex-cricketers. Have a look at some funny tweets.

India have successfully completed their campaign down-under by beating the hosts 2-1 in the Border Gavaskar Trophy which has come as a shock to former cricketers who had predicted a series whitewash for the visitors. They had made supposedly prophetic statements about India’s chances.

But, not so long ago India had lost the first test match after gaining a lead of 53 in the first innings. All thanks to a dismal batting performance by the Indian batsmen who got all-out for their lowest ever test score of 36. Everything looked going downhill for team India as skipper Virat Kohli had to leave for India due to personal reasons.

With as many as five injured players in the team, things looked anything but bright for team India. Ajinkya Rahane was named as a stand-in captain for the rest of the series. International media reported it as “A nightmare to forget for India.” Many ex-cricketers dismissed India’s chances in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. Some of them even predicted a 4-0 white-wash for India in the series. To be fair, the way things stood, not many would have contested these opinions.

Former Aussie legend Rick Ponting said, “India could suffer a white-wash after the Adelaide Test result,” Mark Waugh said, “No hope in the Indian side, no chance of a comeback. 4-0 to India,” even ex-skipper Michael Clarke said, “India can celebrate for a year if they can beat Australia without Virat.” While former England skipper said, “If Australia win the first test and India lose Kohli, this could be 4-0 for Australia.”
