Tough Bio-Bubble Not To Be Created For India-England Test Series, ECB Explains

The England and Wales Cricket Board has refused to implement a strict bio bubble in the India-England series. The ECB believes that the mental health of players is being affected by the bio bubble.

IND Vs ENG: The five-match Test series between England and India will start from August 4. Before the start of the Test series, the Indian camp has come under the grip of Covid-19. England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has so far ruled out any changes in the series after the covid positive cases. ECB also informed that despite corona cases, a strict bio bubble will not be created for the India vs England Test series.

The England and Wales Cricket Board has described the current situation as different from last year. "In dealing with Corona, the situation is different compared to what it was six months or a year ago. We are learning to live with it. Instead of bio bubble, we are creating a safe environment for the team," ECB Chief Tom Harrison said.

ECB believes that the bio bubble is affecting the mental health of the players. "Players are fed up with the bio-bubble. This is affecting the mental health of the players. We have to learn to deal with Covid and have to live with it in the near future. We will follow all the safety norms properly though," Harrison added.

Two cases of Covid-19 infection were found in the Indian team before the practice match in Durham. On the other hand, England had to put a second team on the field in the series against Pakistan, as many of its key players and staff were found Covid positive.

In England, there has been an increase in the Covid-19 cases in the last few days. On Wednesday, more than 42000 cases of Covid-19 were found in Britain. ECB has assured to provide a safe environment for the players.

No serious symptoms have been found in the Indian players and staff members who were tested Covid positive before the practice match. However, both these members have been kept in isolation and will be allowed to join the team camp only after the Covid report is negative.
