Pat Cummins held his composure in the final over to lead SFU to a win, paving the way for a championship clash against the Washington Freedom on July 28. Finn Allen's impressive 101, along with significant performances from Hassan Khan (27 off 15 and 1-25) and Juanoy Drysdale (2-33), secured a thrilling win for the Unicorns.
Choosing to bat first, Finn Allen quickly got into his stride, hitting two boundaries in the opening over and continuing his aggressive approach.

Allen maintained his form throughout the Powerplay, guiding the team to 66 without loss. He reached his half-century with a four off Aaron Hardie, but Noor (3 for 27) broke the partnership by dismissing McGurk, with Sanjay Krishnamurthi following soon after.
Allen continued to score freely, striking boundaries off Stoinis and Mohammad Mohsin, and reached his century before being dismissed by Mohsin. Noor maintained his impressive form by dismissing Rutherford. Despite a strong start, the Unicorns ended their innings at 200 for 6, as TSK managed to tighten their defence and restrict the scoring.
TSK Fall Short Despite Conway & Tromp's Strong Fightback
In response, TSK came out aggressively, with Faf du Plessis and Devon Conway showcasing their intent with early boundaries. Le Roux eventually dismissed du Plessis and Hardie carried on the attack until Drysdale ended his innings. TSK faced challenges as wickets fell frequently and they went 33 balls without hitting a boundary.
Conway and Joshua Tromp staged a comeback, with the latter reaching his half-century. Tromp also scored his fifty in the 19th over. Despite their late push, Cummins controlled the final over effectively, conceding just seven runs and ensuring the Unicorns' spot in the MLC 2024 final.
