Roy suffered a laceration to his right hand little finger during practice on Monday. He will undergo a fitness test before the game.

Not long-ago Billings and Roy used to open the batting the for England in ODIs before the former lost his place in the side. However, Billings has always been knocking on the doors.

Billings, who last played in the middle order in the second ODI against Australia, will open the batting if Roy fails the fitness test.

Apart from Billings, James Vince is also in the squad as cover, previously called in to replace Dawid Malan.

Smarting from their 86-run loss at the Lord's after winning the first game in Nottingham by eight wickets, India have their task cut out.
