Rishabh Pant Hobbles To Crease, Crowd Roars In Manchester Test - WATCH

Rishabh Pant, known for his fearless strokeplay, didn’t let his restricted movement stop him from playing aggressively.

Indian wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant showed immense grit and courage during the ongoing fourth Test between India and England at Old Trafford, Manchester.

Despite being visibly in discomfort due to a prior injury, Pant took the field and batted when his team needed him, drawing a heartfelt standing ovation from the Old Trafford crowd.

India, having lost quick wickets after a decent start, were in a tricky position when Pant walked out to bat. The left-hander, known for his fearless strokeplay, didn’t let his restricted movement stop him from playing aggressively.

He got going with a confident boundary and rotated strike whenever possible, though his running between the wickets was clearly labored. Spectators and teammates alike admired his commitment to the team’s cause.

Pant scored a fighting 54 runs off 75 deliveries, which included three boundaries and two sixes, before being dismissed - clean bowled - by Jofra Archer.

It was a valiant effort from the southpaw, who had to hobble his way back to the dressing room amid loud applause and appreciation from the Manchester crowd.

Pant’s effort help India post competitive total

Pant’s contribution was crucial in helping India post a competitive total of 358 runs in their first innings. Pant's knock added stability and spirit to the lower order, ensuring that the team crossed the 300-run mark on a difficult pitch.

The moment Pant walked back, the entire stadium stood up to applaud his brave innings — a gesture that highlighted how cricket transcends national boundaries when it comes to courage and resilience. His performance not only lifted Indian spirits but also showcased his dedication to the game, even when not fully fit.

At the time of writing this article, England have posted 12 runs in three overs for loss on no wickets.
