Jadeja shared a photo capturing PM Modi's visit to Team India's dressing room, showcasing the dejected emotions in the dressing room after India's impressive tournament run came to an unexpected end.

India's all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja expressed gratitude to the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his visit to the Indian cricket team’s dressing room post the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023 final in Ahmedabad. He stated that the PM's presence uplifted the team's spirits following their loss to Australia in the final match.

Jadeja shared a photo capturing PM Modi's visit, showcasing the dejected emotions in the dressing room after India's impressive tournament run came to an unexpected end. Acknowledging the support of the fans during this challenging time, Jadeja emphasised that despite the team missing out on another opportunity to secure an ICC trophy, the backing of the people keeps them motivated.

"We had a great tournament but we ended up short yesterday. We are all heartbroken but the support of our people is keeping us going. PM @narendramodi’s visit to the dressing room yesterday was special and very motivating," Jadeja conveyed in a social media post on X (formerly Twitter).

Meanwhile, the tournament's leading wicket-taker Mohammed Shami also shared a picture of himself in which PM Modi can be seen hugging him post the team's defeat to Australia in the titular contest.

"Unfortunately yesterday was not our day. I would like to thank all Indians for supporting our team and me throughout the tournament. Thankful to PM @narendramodi for specially coming to the dressing room and raising our spirits. We will bounce back," Shami tweeted.

PM Modi Presented World Cup Trophy To Winning Australian Team

India's cricket squad faced defeat in the Cricket World Cup 2023 final against Australia at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Although unbeaten until the final match, Rohit Sharma's team couldn't seal victory, leaving their aspiration to lift the trophy unfulfilled.

PM Modi arrived at the stadium amid enthusiastic cheers from the crowd, arriving midway through the match. He also presented the World Cup trophy to Pat Cummins after Australia successfully chased down 240 runs.

India posted a total of 240 runs in the final, despite a good start by captain Rohit Sharma. The middle-order struggled to maintain the tempo on a dry Ahmedabad pitch. In contrast, Australia exhibited bold cricket, recovering from a 47 for 3 situation to secure the title in 43 overs, courtesy of Travis Head's match-winning century.

This marked India's second defeat in an ICC final this year, having previously lost to Australia in the World Test Championship final.
