PAK v AUS: Peter Siddle recalled for T20Is after 8 years

Australia will be playing a solitary T20I against UAE followed by 3 T20i against Pakistan after the conclusion of the Test series

Veteran Australian speedster Peter Siddle has earned a recall for the upcoming 3-match T20I series against Pakistan after almost eight years. He came into the frame after Mitchell Starc picked up an injury during the day 2 of the ongoing second Test in Abu Dhabi.

Australia will be playing a solitary T20I against UAE followed by 3 T20i against Pakistan after the conclusion of the Test series. And since Starc has sustained an injury, Siddle has been added as a cover in the squad.

Starc suffered tightness in his hamstring on the second day of the Abu Dhabi Test against Pakistan. As a result, he couldn’t bowl even a single over in the final session after initially bowling four overs in Pakistan's second innings.

Starc suffered from tightness in his hamstring on day two of the ongoing second Test against Pakistan and didn't bowl at all in the final session after initially bowling four overs in Pakistan's second innings.

The Aussies are pretty confident about Starc pulling through the rest of Test series. Hence, they don’t want to take a risk with his participation in the T20I rubber, especially a few days ahead of the home series against India.

Siddle, who is considered as a red-ball specialist, had claimed 11 wickets at an impressive economy of 5.94 in BBL 2017-18 for Adelaide Strikers. He last played a T20 international for Australia back in 2010 against Sri Lanka at Perth.
