Namibia vs Oman T20 World Cup 2024 Match Highlights: Namibia defeated Oman in the third match of the ongoing T20 World Cup 2023 in what turned out to be a thriller of a game as it was the first time this edition of the World Cup saw a match going to Super Over. David Wiese emerged as the hero for Namibia with both bat and ball in a match that took place at the Kensington Oval, Barbados, on June 2 (June 3 IST).

After being invited to bat first by Namibian captain Gerhard Erasmus, Oman endured a horrible start as they lost two consecutive wickets on the first two balls of the match, bowled by Ruben Trumpelmann. Zeeshan Maqsood and Khalid Kail somehow managed to take Oman’s score to 109 in 19.4 overs before they lost all their wickets, with Namibia’s David Wiese and Trumpelmann claiming seven wickets combined.

However, Oman’s Mehran Khan staged a remarkable comeback for the team when he claimed two wickets in the last over of Namibia’s batting innings and restricted them to 109-6 in 20 overs, taking the game to a Super Over.

In the Super Over, Namibia batted first and with help of skipper Gerhard Erasmus and David Wiese, they set the target of 22 runs in the over. However, Wiese wasn't done yet with his heroics. He continued to dominate the Oman batters with his bowling and claimed a wicket in the Super Over and restricted Oman to just 10 runs, helping Namibia to win the T20 World Cup match by nine runs.
