Day 3 of the first Test between India and England at Headingley saw tempers flare as Indian pacer Mohammed Siraj and England’s young batting star Harry Brook got involved in a fiery on-field exchange. The incident added an extra layer of drama to what was already an intense contest.
Brook’s Aggression Sparks Siraj’s Frustration
Harry Brook showcased his class with a scintillating knock of 99 off 112 deliveries, which included 11 boundaries and two sixes.
Meanwhile, Siraj had a tough outing with the ball, conceding 122 runs in his 27 overs and managing just two wickets. Brook, particularly aggressive against Siraj, struck him for three consecutive fours, which seemed to trigger a reaction from the bowler.
What followed was a tense moment between the two, as Siraj exchanged words with Brook. The English batter didn’t hold back either, leading to a visible on-field altercation that caught the attention of players and spectators alike.

Brook Falls Short of a Century
Harry Brook looked set for a memorable hundred in his first Test against India but fell agonizingly short by just one run. He was dismissed on 99 by a well-directed bouncer from Prasidh Krishna. Despite the disappointment of missing out on a century, his innings was one of the standout performances of the match.
While Jasprit Bumrah remained India's standout performer with the ball, the rest of the bowling unit — including Siraj — struggled to contain England’s batting. The Siraj-Brook exchange, however, became one of the most talked-about moments of the day, reflecting the high-pressure atmosphere of this marquee Test series.
