AUS vs WI T20Is: Mitchell Marsh To Captain Australia From Isolation After Testing Positive For COVID-19
Despite testing positive for COVID-19, Mitchell Marsh will remain the Australian captain for the West Indies T20Is.
Mitchell Marsh is all set to lead Australia during their three-match T20I series against West Indies. Even though Marsh has tested positive for Coronavirus, Cricket Australia (CA) confirmed that Marsh will continue to be the captain despite being infected with the virus. With Marsh at the helm of affairs, arrangements will be in place that everyone involved remains safe.
Among the new standard operating procedure with play continuing despite Marsh returned positive for a COVID-19 test, the player will have a separate dressing room. Moreover, he will continue to maintain distance from his teammates even as he leads them on the field. The situation, though unique, is similar to the way Cameron Green took field during the second Test match against West Indies at the Brisbane, Gabba. However, on that occasion, Coronavirus infected Green wasn't the captain.
