Marnus Labuschagne Becomes This Year's Leading Run-Scorer In Tests

Following his 162-run innings against Pakistan in Adelaide, Marnus Labuschagne now has 829 runs in 2019

Australian batsman Marnus Labuschagne has emerged as the leading run-scorer in Tests in 2019. Bringing up the second hundred of his Test career, the batter went on to score 162 runs in the first innings of the day-night Test against Pakistan. His innings took his tally to 829 runs in 2019. Earlier in the first Test against Pakistan, Labuschagne slammed his maiden hundred in Brisbane. He scored 185 off 279 runs, including 20 boundaries. Along with Mathew Wade, he stitched a 106-run partnership and made sure the visitors didn't have any respite. In the ongoing match between Australia and Pakistan, Labuschagne was also involved in a 361-run stand with David Warner and this is now the highest partnership in a day-night Test. Australia's Steve Smith is placed on the second place as he has registered 779 runs in this calendar year. India's Mayank Agarwal and Ajinkya Rahane also feature in the top five as they registered 745 and 642 runs respectively this year. However, they won't get a chance to add more runs in the Test format as India would not be playing any more matches in the longest format this year. England all-rounder Ben Stokes is currently on the fourth spot after registering 746 runs.
