Ishan Kishan almost pulls off Dhoni's blind-flick run out
Ishan Kishan took another step in taking over the mantle from MS Dhoni. No, he has not made it to the Indian side, nor has he broken any of Dhoni’s records but the 20-year-old former India U19 captain almost pulled a Dhoni-style blind-flick run out during the Duleep Trophy final at Dindigul.

Dhoni, the inventor of the blind-flick run out, has time and again astonished everyone with his ability to knock down the stumps without even looking at them to catch batsman short of his crease. His Jharkhand teammate, Kishan, meanwhile, did everything right apart from being quick enough to get the batsman run out.

Kishan executed the blind-flick to perfection during the first day’s play of the Duleep Trophy final between India Blue and India Red. Unfortunately for the India Red stumper, the batsmen had made his ground in time. But full marks must be given to Kishan for his effort.

Kishan, for quite some time now has been pitted as MS Dhoni’s successor since the two belong from the same state. Like Dhoni, Kishan too is a clean striker of the cricket ball and he in all probability will lead Jharkhand in the upcoming Vijay Hazare Trophy in Dhoni’s absence, since the latter will be busy with the Asia Cup in UAE.
After having an impressive season with the Mumbai Indians in the IPL, Kishan has been knocking on the doors of the Indian team. He was last seen in action in the recently-concluded Quadrangular series involving India A, India B, Australia A and South Africa A.
